Edward Vincent Turco

Edward Vincent Turco, 83, died peacefully at his home in Newtown September 28, after a lengthy illness. He was born in Westerly, R.I., on February 23, 1932, and was a son of the late Carmela and Antonio Turco.      

Mr Turco attended Immaculate Conception Grammar School in Westerly, and LaSalle Academy in Providence, R.I. He graduated from George Washington University in Washington, DC, and lived there for a number of years. He was also a longtime resident of Washington, Conn.

He served and was honorably discharged from the US Army in Germany.

He loved working and planting greenery in his beautiful yard.

The Newtown Bee was an important part of his life, and he enjoyed working there as an advertising representative for a number of years.

His sister Caroline G. Turco of Westerly and his brother Anthony J. Turco of Danvers, Mass., survive Mr Turco. He also leaves 14 nieces and nephews; and many grandnieces, grandnephews, and cousins. His brothers, Dr Vincent J. Turco, Dr Frank E. Turco, Joseph A. Turco, and Raymond R. Turco; his sister, Rose D. Turco; and his longtime friend, William Koelling, predeceased him.

A burial service will be held on at 11 am, Saturday November 7, at his family plot in St Sebastian Cemetery, in Westerly.
