What Does Your Hometown Look Like?

Koenig FrameWorks, at 97 South Main Street in Newtown, wants to know what residents think their town looks like through the lens of a camera.

The gallery is planning a juried photography show called “Your Town,” and has issued a call for entries.

Submissions are being accepted through November 21. Photos can actually be of any town or city within Connecticut.

Among the criteria for the competition, the first of what Koenig is hoping will become an annual event, is that the prints are not to be matted or framed. Koenig will be providing off-white matting for all accepted entries at no charge. Each person can submit up to two entries. Fees are $3 for the first entry, and $2 for the second.

The competition is open to all Connecticut residents ages 18 and older. Black and white, color, and digital prints are being accepted.

All photos must be available for purchase.

Awards will be given for first, second and third place photographs.

The collection will be on view December 4-24, and the gallery will host an opening reception on Friday, December 4, from 6 to 9 pm. Cash prizes will be awarded during the reception.

Gallery hours are Monday through Saturday, 10 am to 5 pm. Call 270-1887, or visit KoenigFrameWorks.com for additional information and entry forms.
