Rell: Overhaul Vaccine Distribution

HARTFORD (AP) — Governor M. Jodi Rell wants the federal government to overhaul its system for producing and distributing flu vaccine.

In a letter released Sunday to US Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius, Rell expresses her frustration with delays in the delivery of both swine and seasonal influenza vaccines.

Rell said the state had been told it would receive up to 500,000 doses of the swine flu vaccine for by the middle of October. She says the state has only received just 127,600.
