Police Check Traffic Noise

In Sandy Hook

During the afternoon of Sunday, October 25, the police department’s traffic unit conducted a vehicle noise enforcement project on Glen Road, near its intersection with Walnut Tree Hill Road, in Sandy Hook.

Police said they observed approximately 30 motorcyclists drive through that area, none of whom violated vehicle noise laws.

Police conducted the enforcement in response to complaints about noisy motorcycles passing through that area.

Drivers who operate vehicles, including motorcycles, are prohibited from altering their vehicles’ mufflers to increase noise output, police said. Violators are subject to a $225 fine.
