Patricia Lynne Aschauer

Devoted Wife, Mother

& Educator

Patricia Lynne Aschauer of Newtown died at her home on October 25. Born in Springfield, Ill., to Ruth and Edward Clayton, she is survived by her husband, Joseph Glenn Aschauer, to whom she was married for 40 years.

Her daughter, Kiersten Lynne Aschauer and son, Ryan Joseph Aschauer and their spouses, Shad Borgen and Ashley Aschauer, respectively, also survive her.

A well-loved and longtime educator at Head O’ Meadow School, Ms Aschauer was known as a deeply devoted and compassionate teacher. For 18 years, she worked tirelessly to inspire young minds in innovative ways. Her goal was encouraging her students to embrace learning and life.

Her family is especially grateful for the overwhelming support from friends and teachers from Head O’ Meadow School.

When not in the classroom, Ms Aschauer could be found at a Broadway play in New York City, watching a classic movie, listening to public radio, gardening, or watching birds in her back yard. Her clever quips, gorgeous smile, and colorful style will be missed by many.

Calling hours are Saturday, October 31, at Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street in Newtown, from noon to 2 pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 22718, Oklahoma City OK 73123-1718. Pat’s Mosaic of Hope tribute page and donation site is at www.donate4pat.com.

Friends are also encouraged to plant a perennial in her name.
