A Kind & Caring Man
James E. Bassett, 78, a lifetime resident of Danbury, died October 25, at Danbury Hospital. Mr Bassett was born March 12, 1931.
He is survived by his eight children and their spouses, including Lori and Paul Hubina of Newtown; 17 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and three cousins. His wives, Grace May Bassett and Elizabeth Pawlisak Bassett, predeceased Mr Bassett.
He was a self-employed truck driver, most recently working for Danbury Printing. He enjoyed his model trains, fishing, and clamming in Rhode Island and Norwalk.
 Mr Bassett was a member of St Peterâs Church in Danbury. He was a kind and caring man who will be greatly missed by those who knew him.
The Bassett family would like to extend their thanks and appreciation of the nurses of the 11th floor of Danbury Hospital, and Dr Rella and his staff.
A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on October 29. Interment followed at St Peterâs Cemetery.
