Good Samaritans

To the Editor:

I am writing this letter to thank all the good Samaritans who offered us assistance with a flat tire on Edmund Road, the evening of October 16. The number of people who stopped to see if we needed help was overwhelming. Some even stopped by twice. Two police officers also offered to check back on us and made sure the auto club was on its way. Despite an auto club membership and cellular phone, it can be an anxiety producing experience to be in a disabled car with your children, as it grows dark. The kindness and neighborly compassion extended to us was so outstanding, I had to write to say thank you. We consider ourselves very fortunate to live in this town, with so many people who don’t hesitate to inconvenience themselves to help others in need. Thank you very much.
