NEW YORK CITY â The Jewish Museum will present a conversation program, âAllan Kaprow: Art & Life,â on Thursday, November 8, at 6:30 pm.
Presented as part of the Performa07 Biennial, will explore American artist Allan Kaprowâs artistic practices and legacy. Panelists include Stephanie Rosenthal, curator, Haus der Kunst; art historian Irving Sandler and artist Paul McCarthy.
The evening will feature video footage of Kaprow (1927â2006), who coined the term âhappeningsâ to describe performance art pieces involving public participation.
Performa07, taking place November 1â20, is the second biennial of new visual art performance presented by Performa, a nonprofit multidisciplinary arts organization dedicated to exploring the critical role of live performance in the history of Twentieth Century art and to encouraging new directions in performance for the TwentyFirst Century.
