Water Gardens Program

At The Senior Center

The Town and Country Garden Club will host a program by Rob Dietter from Dietter’s Water Gardens who will be speaking at Newtown Senior Center in Sandy Hook on Wednesday, November 10, at 7:30 pm.

Mr Dietter is an award-winning designer who creates professional water garden installations and do-it-yourself kits. He runs the largest aquatic plant nursery in Connecticut that also includes a fish farm.

The Plant Nursery was established in 1996 and they locally grow and distribute their aquatic plants to Connecticut’s finest garden centers. Selections include lilies, lotus and marginal plants that are available at their greenhouses on weekends in April through September.

Dietter’s also carries a full range of pond supplies. They are presently ranked number forty among nearly 34,000 landscape design contractors by Aquascape Designs. The fish farm is run by Steve and Jane Stone, who presently import and raise the finest Koi and goldfish on the east coast.

The public is welcome and the club urges people to join its members for a fascinating presentation.

The senior center is within Newtown’s multi-purpose building on Riverside Road in Sandy Hook.
