Technology And The War On Terror
DANBURY â Dr David Schiering will discuss technological advances and their uses in hazardous materials response, homeland security and the war on terror on Friday, November 5, at 3 pm. Sponsored by the American Chemical Society Student Affiliates Organization of WCSU, the lecture will be in Western CT State University Higgins Hall Room 114.
Dr Schiering is the director of product management and a senior scientist at the Danbury-based Smiths Detection, a leader in developing innovative instrumentation for civilian and military first responders as well as analysts working in forensic and public health laboratories.
The public is invited to the lecture, free of charge. A reception with Dr Schierling will follow.
Higgins Hall is on WCSUâs main campus. Visitors should park in the parking garage on White Street; Higgins Hall is across the street from the garage, just behind Fairfield Hall.
