Holmes

Mildred (Voos) Holmes, 98, of Newtown, beloved wife of the late Elmer J. Holmes, died October 16 with her loving daughter Mildred at her side.

She was the daughter of the late Fredrick and Ella Voos. Mrs Holmes was born in Bridgeport and was a Milford resident most of her life. She and her husband also resided in Redwood City, Calif., after her husband’s retirement. She was a resident at Ashlar of Newtown.

Mrs Holmes and her late husband were active members of the Azalia Chapter #2 Eastern Star, Stratford. They served as past matron and patron together.

Mildred was a loving mother, grandmother and enjoyed spending time with her family. She is survived by two children, Mildred Holmes of Newtown and Elmer Holmes and his wife Lenora of Lone Pine, Calif.; ten grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 18 great-great-grandchildren; and two nieces and a nephew. In addition to her husband she was predeceased by her daughter, Barbara and her husband Warren Webbon of Sonora, Calif., an infant great-grandson, Patrick Glenn of Columbia, Tenn., and three sisters, Hilda Bremier, Louise Allan, and Florence Morrison.

Burial was private at the convenience of the family.
