Meet The Expert On Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma
DANBURY â The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, in collaboration with the Praxair Cancer Center, American Cancer Society, and Annâs Place Home of I Can, will be sponsoring a free educational seminar entitled âMeet the Expert on Non-Hodgkin Lymphomaâ on Wednesday, November 10, at 6:30 pm. The program will be held in the Praxair Cancer Center Conference Room at Danbury Hospital.
Dr Carol S. Portlock, attending physician, lymphoma service at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York will be the guest speaker. Dr Portlock is a graduate of Stanford University Medical School and has more than 20 years experience in caring for patients with lymphoma. She will present basic information on terminology, risk factors, diagnosis, staging, and classification of non-Hodgkin lymphoma. New insights, treatments, and future directors for NHL will also be discussed.
A light supper will be provided courtesy of Genentech Bio Oncology and IDEC Pharmaceuticals Corporation. Educational materials will be distributed to attendees.
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is a national voluntary association dedicated to finding the cause and eventual cure for leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma, and myeloma, and to improving the quality of life for patients and families.
