Mazda Vs Buick

At about 7:22 am October 18, motorist Debra Kaza, 52, of 4 Clearview Drive, who was driving a 2000 Buick Century northward near 150 South Main Street, stopped to make a left turn into a private driveway, and was struck from behind by northbound motorist Emanuel Dangezek, 58, of Fairfield, who was driving a 1998 Mazda 626, police report.

There were no injuries. Police issued Dangezek a written warning for following too closely.

Frankenstein Missing

Police report that sometime after 10 pm on October 24, someone stole an eight-foot-tall Frankenstein monster decoration from the front yard of a home on Hattertown Road, near its intersection with Mt Nebo Road. Police are investigating and ask anyone with information on the theft to contact them at 426-5841.

Moving Violations

Police said that while on patrol on Hawleyville Road about 1:25 am October 24, they spotted an auto that had a damaged marker plate, so they stopped motorist Jonathan W. Berman, 28, of Brookfield to investigate and learned that the plate belonged on another vehicle.

 After investigating, police charged Berman with misuse of marker plates, driving while under suspension, driving an unregistered vehicle, and driving without automotive insurance.

Police released Berman for a November 4 appearance in Danbury Superior Court.

SUV Vs SUV

Motorist Kyle Domizio, 18, of Oxford, who was driving a 2004 Nissan Murano sport-utility vehicle eastward on Route 34 about 6:44 pm October 23, stopped for an eastbound noncontact vehicle in front of him, which was waiting to make a left turn onto Pole Bridge Road, police said.

Motorist Sarah Bel, 18, of Ridgefield, who was driving a 1999 Suzuki Grand Vitara sport-utility vehicle, then drove into the rear end of the Nissan, police said. There were no injuries. Police issued Bel a written warning for traveling at an unsafe distance.

Saturn And Audi

Motorist Guy Atkins, 29, of Bridgeport who was driving a 1996 Saturn SL-1 northward on South Main Street about 12:11 pm October 18, attempted to make a left turn onto Meadow Brook Road, but collided with motorist Roseann Lukaszewski, 52, of Monroe, who was driving a 1999 Audi A-4 southward on South Main Street, police said.

There were no injuries. Police issued Atkins an infraction ticket for making a restricted turn.

Botsford Collision

Motorist Peter Mazzucco of Trumbull was driving a 2001 Nissan pickup truck eastward on Little Brook Lane, as motorist Margaret Sippin of 2 Stone Gate Drive was driving a 1999 Subaru Legacy southward on Botsford Hill Road at about 10:11 am October 18, police said.

The Nissan then entered the intersection of the two streets, resulting in a collision, police said. There were no injuries. Police issued Mazzucco an infraction ticket for failure to grant the right of way at an intersection.

Intoxication

State police report that while doing a traffic stop near Exit 9 of eastbound Interstate 84 at about 1:30 am October 21, they determined that motorist Russell Hardy, 29, of 84 Lakeview Terrace was intoxicated.

State police said they charged Hardy with driving while impaired by alcohol, after which he was released on bail for a November 20 appearance in Danbury Superior Court to answer the charge.

 

Three Vehicles

State police report a three-vehicle accident on westbound Interstate 84, near Exit 9, about 8:19 am October 21.

Motorist Danielle Collins, 22, of Cheshire, who was driving a 2003 Saturn Ion, stopped for heavy traffic, after which motorist Charles Wright, 40, of 17 Gopher Road, who was driving a 1991 Isuzu Rodeo, stopped behind the Saturn, state police said.

Motorist Deborah Labrecque, 40, of Watertown, who was driving a 2002 Ford Taurus, then struck the rear end of the Isuzu, pushing the Isuzu into the rear end of the Saturn, state police said. There were no injuries.

Pickup Vs Pickup

Motorist Travis Thompson, 25, of Brookfield, who was driving a 2001 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck northward on Hawleyville Road about 4:15 pm October 25, stopped for traffic near North Ridge Drive, after which he was struck from behind by northbound motorist Paul Valeri, 56, of Danbury, who was driving a 2002 Chevrolet Avalanche pickup truck, police report.

There were no injuries. Police issued Valeri an infraction ticket for failure to drive a reasonable distance apart.

SUVs Collide

Police report a collision between two sport-utility vehicles at the intersection of Mt Pleasant Road and Saw Mill Road about 8:09 am on October 21.

Motorist David Henckel, 42, of 11 Pepperidge Road, who was driving a 2004 Nissan X-Terra, was traveling northward on Saw Mill Road and then stopped at a stop sign at its intersection with Mt Pleasant Road, police said.

At that time, motorist Shahnawaz Moghal, 26, of Danbury was driving a 2001 Ford Expedition westward on Mt Pleasant Road, police said.

The Nissan then pulled away from the stop sign to head westward on Mt Pleasant Road, but collided with the Ford, police said.

There were no injuries. Police issued Henckel a written warning for failure to grant the right of way at a stop sign.

SUV Vs Deer

Motorist Marcy DeFlorio, 50, of Bethel was driving a 2003 Toyota RAV-4 eastward on Route 302, near its intersection with Flat Swamp Road, about 10 am October 26, when a deer ran in front of the vehicle, resulting in a collision, police said.

The deer appeared to be uninjured and ran off into the woods, police said. DeFlorio was not injured. Police took no enforcement.

Jewelry Theft

Police report they arrested Jason Lima, 20, of Danbury on a warrant on October 26, charging him with third degree larceny and with sixth degree larceny in connection with two past incidents.

Police said that while working for an electrical contractor in private residences in July, Lima stole jewelry items from the homes.

The stolen goods were located at a Danbury pawn shop, leading police to make the arrest. Lima posted $500 bail and was released for a November 11 appearance in Danbury Superior Court.

High Rock Road

On October 27, police arrested Jeffrey Lillis, 27, of Bristol on a warrant in Waterbury, charging him in connection with the past theft of chain saws and lawn equipment from a High Rock Road residence in Newtown.

Police charged Lillis with third degree burglary and with third degree larceny. Evidence located at a Waterbury pawn shop led to the arrest, police said.

Lillis posted $2,500 bail and was released for a November 9 appearance in Danbury Superior Court.

DUI Arrest

Police report they charged William M. Lehning, 40, of Woodbury with driving under the influence and with making a restricted turn following a motor vehicle accident on the night of October 27. Details on the accident were not available on the morning of October 28.

After he posted $200 bail, police released Lehning for a November 9 appearance in Danbury Superior Court, where he will answer the charges.
