– 10/11 –

Black Knights 9, Newtown (#2) 3 – Dylan Poppy went 3-for-3 with a triple and three RBI and pitched a fine game, as well, to lead the Knights to the win. Erik Hoffman drove in four runs while Connor Blanc played awesome defense in right. Cody Gotthardt also played well. For Newtown #2, Bryan Czel had an excellent day on the mound, striking out five of seven batters he faced. Tim Bloom and Sean Dardine each had timely hits while Brandon Ziman played well in the field.

Fireballs 3, Royals 2 – Theo Hartlett and Mike Lengel each threw two scoreless innings as the Fireballs slipped past the Royals. Brian Reed’s double in the bottom of the sixth scored Clayton Makuch with the wining run. For the Royals, Tim Wilder and Steven Braun each hurled two scoreless innings as Cody Williams doubled in Jeffry Grasso and scored in the fourth.

Fireballs 3, Sluggers 1 – Eighth-inning singles by Patrick Sullivan, David Lucia, and Sean Connolly scored the winning runs for the Fireballs. Brian Reed, Theo Hartlett, Steven Zarifis, and Mike Lengel pitched seven scoreless innings for the Fireballs. For the Sluggers, Riley Wurtz, Joey Maggio, Robbie Carrol and Kyle Packer combined for six scoreless innings.

Newtown Green 6, Royals 5 – Cody Williams had two doubles and five RBI and Thomas Santaniello, Tim Wilder, Scott Keating, Jeffrey Grasso and Steven Braun each scored a run for the Royals.

Royals 17, Bombers 6 – Cody Williams hit two home runs and Jeffrey Grasso had a double, a triple and scored four runs for the Royals. Thomas Santaniello also scored four runs. Steven Braun had two doubles and two singles and scored three runs and played fine defense at short.

Fireballs 5, Royals 2 – Brandon Bowen drove in a run to tie the game in the fourth inning for the Royals, but the Fireballs ended up with the win. Cody Williams made a strong throw from first to catch a runner trying to stretch a double into a triple. Jeffrey Grasso and Williams each scored a run.

Screaming Gators 7, Bombers 6 – Mitch Udiskey pitched two scoreless innings to go along with his two hits and four RBIs to lead the Gators to the win. Jack Kneisel also pitched well while contributing offensively with a hit, two runs scored and an RBI. Richard Andreotta and Matt Madden each scored twice and had excellent games defensively. For the Bombers, Ryan Schmidt pitched two scoreless innings while collecting two hits and a run scored. Josh Jowdy had two hits and also pitched well. John Smolen had a strong game defensively.

Red Raiders 8, Crusaders 3 – Ken McCabe banged out two hits, scored twice and added an RBI to lead the Red Raiders to a first round playoff win. Anthony Gruce, Andrew LaMarche and Jack List each had a hit and scored a run. List and Jimmy Poe each hurled three solid innings. Scoring runs for the Crusaders were Tyler Edwards, Oskar Dean and Hiram Orama.

SOFTBALL

– U10 –

Brookfield 10, 100 Church Hill Restaurant 7 – Gwendolyn Gies, Taylor Brady and Alexandra Buttery all played well for 100 Church Hill.

– U12 –

George’s Pizza 15, LRM 6 – Stefanie Sanchez and Brittany Clarke pitched well to lead George’s to the win. Natalie Dunn, Sanchez and Megan Gibbons all had run-scoring hits. Nina Midlik played well. For LRM, Colleen Cunningham and Brooke Fell pitched well and had some key hits. Ashley Kolakowski caught a great game behind the plate.
