To the Editor:

The Board of Finance is an important part of our town government, providing guidance and direction on Newtown’s finances with transparency and accountability.

Historically, Republicans have provided excellent bipartisan leadership on this board working with the finance director to establish a framework of good fiscal policy.

With rising inflation and interest rates, and the many proposed changes coming from Washington and Hartford, Newtown needs a strong team that will continue to advocate for best practices on fiscal policy while striving to support education and economic development, so we get the most for our tax dollars.

We have thoughtfully recruited our candidates for their capacity and experience. They will seek to inform and engage you all as we build together a fiscally solid future for Newtown. Please vote Line B this Tuesday for John Madzula II, Steven Goodridge, Chandravir Ahuja, and Geoffrey Dent.
