To the Editor:

My name is Roberta Ahuja and I write to endorse my husband, Chandravir Ahuja, for the Board of Finance.

It has been gratifying to see several members of the Fairfield Hills Review Committee, on which he served, write in support of his candidacy. Even though he has been on the Board of Finance for a short period of time, one of his colleagues advocated for him.

With 31 years of experience in financial markets in the commodity trading space he certainly is well qualified to serve on the Board of Finance.

I wanted to share from a personal perspective. Not only is Chandravir intelligent, but he is diligent and hardworking. Perhaps, the best way to describe Chandravir is that he is a humble servant, extremely kind and gentle. He gives himself wholeheartedly to everything he takes on.

We have been married now for 26 years and have lived the last 18 years in Newtown, raising both our sons in this wonderful community.

About nine years ago, Chandravir encouraged me to get more involved with my pottery pastime. He pushed me to get a booth at the Newtown Arts Festival and he took on all the business responsibilities, including registration, taxes, and managing my website and Facebook page.

With his support, I became a volunteer driver for FISH of Newtown, offering senior citizens rides to their medical appointments (till COVID shut us down). Whenever it was my turn to organize the schedule, Chandravir helped me by calling the people getting rides as well as the other drivers to coordinate the schedule.

He also volunteers as a leader at our church and is active with an organization that shows hospitality to international students at the University of Bridgeport.

Please consider voting for Chandravir.
