Robert L. Sheron, 82, of Litchfield, died peacefully, October 24, surrounded by loving family, at Geer Nursing Center, Canaan. He was born in Waterbury, November 2, 1930, to Patricia Gogas Sheron and Michael Sheron. He was the husband of Terry Sheron, a longtime former ad representative at The Newtown Bee.

For many years Mr Sheron was project manager for Scott Pools in Woodbury. Later, he sold construction equipment. Possibly his favorite employment came in retirement, as a school bus driver. He loved the children in Bethlehem.

He was a founding and active member of the Pathfinders MC of Connecticut. Dirt bikes were his favorite sport for many years. He was a loyal friend of Bill W’s.

Besides his devoted wife of 19 years, his daughters Lyle Schreiber, and her husband Paul, of Oxford, and Jaime Gilnack, and her husband Jim, of Bethlehem, and son Kerry, and his wife Maria, of Escondido, Calif.; stepsons John Sjovall, and wife Valerie, of Danbury, James Sjovall, and wife Rowena, of Lithia, Fla., and Thomas Sjovall of Danbury; four grandchildren; his beautiful mother-in-law Ruth Harris; former wife Georgia Sheron of Waterbury; and several nieces and nephews survive Mr Sheron. He was predeceased by his oldest son, Bobby; and his brother, Ron.

His family wishes to acknowledge with tremendous gratitude all the loving care and support given to him and us by the angels, all, at Geer Nursing Center. Also, with many thanks to the folks at Watertown Convalarium in Watertown and Masonicare Health Care Center in Wallingford.

Calling hours will be Wednesday, October 30, from 5 to 7 pm, at Rowe Funeral Home, 283 Torrington Road, Litchfield (Route 202).  A memorial mass will be celebrated Saturday, November 2, at 10:30 am, at the Grotto Chapel at Lourdes in Litchfield, followed by a buffet lunch in Pilgrim Hall for family and friends. Burial will be private.

Memorial donations may be made to the Montfort Fathers at Lourdes in Litchfield, at www.shrinect.org.
