To the Editor:

 I am writing this letter as a former resident who lived in Newtown for 18 years, prior to moving to Southbury two years ago. My heart still lies in Newtown, and I care deeply about the community and its future. During my 18 years of living in Newtown I served as the schools business manager and served on various boards and commissions; one of those was the Board of Finance where I worked closely with James Gaston. During those two years I developed a deep respect for Jim not only as a member of the board but as an individual.

Jim is not only an intelligent individual but a very sincere and caring person who truly has Newtown’s best interest in mind. Jim is very thorough, he always does his homework; so when he speaks or makes a point you know his response is worthy of consideration. Jim is not there for the visibility, prestige, or power. He is there and dedicated to doing what is right and best for Newtown and its future. This is why I have taken the time to write this letter.

I strongly encourage the voters of Newtown to vote for James Gaston for the Board of Selectmen. A vote for Jim is truly a vote for Newtown!
