My name is Dennis Leahy; I am the former vice president of the Communications Workers of America Local 1107, Rockland County, N.Y., and I am currently the mayor of the Village of Maybrook in New York.

I’m writing this letter in support of James Walsh [IPN candidate for the Police Commission]. I have had the honor of working with Mr Walsh as a Verizon employee and a union delegate. Mr Walsh and I have known each other for the past 15 years. Recently, Mr Walsh informed me that he wanted to become more involved with his community and would be seeking a position in public office. Over the years Jim and I worked together as co-workers, union delegates, and as friends. He has the integrity it takes for an individual to become a public servant and I wish him all the best in his pursuit.
