To the Editor:

As a resident in Newtown, I make every effort to try and understand the important issues that affect our town and our school system. At times the issues are complex and take long periods of time before they are completely understood by all involved. Working fulltime and raising two kids, I don’t always have the time to understand all the important details that are involved in making a quality decision.

What I look for in a political leader in our town is someone who will make the time to understand everything involved in spending our money and creating our town and school policies. Over the last four years I have observed that Kathy Fetchick has made the time to understand whatever the issue was at the time. She has spent endless hours researching important issues that affect me and my family. I have seen her always make time to hear residents concerns on budgets or policies. She listens to all sides of an issue before she decides how she will cast her vote in a meeting.

When you go to the polls to vote remember we need town leaders that will hear our concerns and help make a positive change for our community. I believe Kathy Fetchick will continue to do that as she runs for Legislative Council, District 2 .
