To the Editor:
A number of years ago when I was running for the position of state representative, I walked the roads and streets of the 112th District, which includes a part of Newtown. On that walk I encountered many people, some who are memorable. One of those memorable people is Neil Randle, who is presently running for Newtown Police Commission.
Neil was raking leaves with his children and set down his rake to hear my story and to tell me his. I was impressed with his intellect, love for Newtown, and willingness to engage in collaborative problem solving and dialogue. Neil since that time has continued to impress me. He has become a US citizen, been deeply engaged in his community and always willing to step up. Along with his personal attributes he has a professional position that requires him to work well with others. Neil has the qualities that would make for an excellent police commissioner and it is a pleasure to support him in his efforts to volunteer to be a public servant.
