'The Human Side Of Undocumented Immigrants' Exhibit To WestConn
âThe Human Side Of Undocumented Immigrantsâ Exhibit To WestConn
DANBURY â As the issues of undocumented people living the United States become more heated and complicated, so does David Baconâs desire to have the entire story told, through pictures. Some of Mr Baconâs scenes will be on display for the next two months at Western Connecticut State University.
In his photo exhibit âLiving Under the Trees,â Mr Bacon shows the human side of the undocumented immigrants who incite passion in those who either support or reject them. The photos show people of different cultures sharing family values and work ethics.
The exhibit opened on Columbus Day Monday and will remain on view through Wednesday, November 30, on the main floor of the Ruth Haas Library, on the universityâs midtown campus near the corner of Osborne Street and Fifth Avenue.
The exhibit is free and open to the public during regular library hours: Monday through Friday, 8 am until 11 pm; Friday, 8 am to 4 pm; Saturday, 10 am to 6 pm; and Sunday from 2 to 10 pm.
Mr Bacon, who has written a book entitled Illegal People, writes that âour national policy [on immigration] produces even more displacement, more migration, more immigration raids, and a more divided, polarized society.â He is expected to return to the university in mid-November to give a lecture on his book.
