Glenn Carl DeCesare, 61, of Newtown, died peacefully, October 21, at his home. He was born in Bridgeport, June 5, 1950, a son of Salvatore C. DeCesare of Newtown and the late Katherine (Buhan) DeCesare.

Mr DeCesare was raised in Newtown and was a graduate of Newtown High School. He served in the US Navy during the Vietnam War. He was a mechanic and carpenter. He had previously worked for the Town of Newtown Highway Department and, in his earlier years, was a volunteer Newtown Hook & Ladder firefighter.

In addition to his father, survivors include a brother, Kurt DeCesare of Newtown; two sisters, Kathy Kean-Cragin of Newtown and Linda Knox of Torrington; and nine nieces and nephews.

Funeral services took place October 25, in Honan Funeral Home, Newtown.
