Sleepy Hollow Road Fire
Firefighters responded to an accidental fire at a single-family home at 20 Sleepy Hollow Road at 7:02 pm on October 26.
Sandy Hook Volunteer Fire & Rescue Company Chief Bill Halstead said that the fire occurred in the occupied house after a curtain had come into contact with an electric lamp.
There were no injuries. The fire caused minimal damage estimated at approximately $500, he said. The incident caused a minor smoke condition within the house, he added.
Sandy Hook, Hook & Ladder, and Hawleyville firefighters were alerted of the incident. Sleepy Hollow Road is a dead-end street that extends from Valley Field Road South.
