Eagle Scout Thanks

Project Supporters

To the Editor:

I would like to take this opportunity to thank certain individuals and area businesses that generously donated their time and supplies for my Eagle Scout project. Without your generosity, time, and support, it would have been difficult to complete my project as planned.

The following individuals and businesses donated assistance with carpentry expertise with redesigning, demo, and rebuilding the Faith Food Pantry storage closets, assistance with repairing and painting the entire room as well as the molding, doors and inside the new storage closets, carpentry materials, numerous gallons of paint and food: Mr Larry Coleman, The Freemasons - Hiram Lodge #18 in Sandy Hook (Anthony, Sam, David and Joe), Mr John Bermingham, Mr Mark Benedict, my sister Maddie Erhardt, Scouts from Troop 270, classmates from NHS, Newtown Hardware, Newtown Color Center, Craig Doersch Painting, My Place Restaurant, Carminuccio’s Pizza, Rings End Bethe,l and Rings End New Milford.

Thank you to Mrs Linda Lubinsky for helping me coordinate the 1 Can Make(s) A Difference food drive. Through the generous donations before, during and after the Labor Day parade held over Columbus Day weekend, over 800 cans of food and $600 dollars in cash and grocery gift cards were collected and donations are still coming in.

I’d like to extend my appreciation to Mr Bruce Moulthrop, Mrs Lee Paulsen and the Vestry at St. John’s Episcopal Church for allowing me to design and execute this project.

As we enter the holiday season, please remember to include the Faith Food Pantry in your gift giving. These volunteers and the pantry help to feed over 600 residents in our community who are struggling through these uncertain economic times.

Food and dry goods donations for FAITH Food Pantry can be dropped off Tuesdays between 10 am and noon, or Thursday evenings between 6 and 7:30 pm, at St John’s Episcopal Church, 5 Washington Avenue in Sandy Hook. The food pantry operates out of the basement of the church, but is open to all residents. It is not a religious-based organization.

To donate, send a check made out to FAITH Food Pantry, c/o Lee Paulsen, 119 Boggs Hill Road, Newtown, CT 06411. For more information, call Mrs. Paulsen at 203-426-5604.

Sincerely

Spencer Erhardt
