A Pair Of Programs By Flagpole Photographers, November 3 & 15

Flagpole Photographers Camera Club has two public programs planned for November.

First will be a portrait workshop at Newtown Congregational Church, 14 West Street, on Thursday, November 3. Photographers of all levels are to experiment with taking portraits using professional studio equipment as well as creating the same look with items found around the home.

Multiple set ups will be available. Attendees should use the church’s lower level entrance.

The club’s next photo competition will then be held at C.H. Booth Library, 25 Main Street, on Tuesday, November 15. This program will begin at 7:30 and will be in the library’s lower meeting room. Club members can enter photos for Cloud Patterns, Open Color and Open Black & White. All are welcome to attend the program, but the competition is open only to members.

Photos will receive commentary from a neighboring camera club judge. Refreshments will be provided.

Flagpole Photographers is a local non-profit group that enable members to share their images and expertise, to learn and grow in their photography, and to enjoy the camaraderie of fellow photographers. Members are from diverse backgrounds, with photographic skills ranging from beginning novices to professional photographers.

The season runs from September through June. Monthly print competitions are usually held at the library on the third Thursday of the month. The club also offers six hands-on learning programs at Newtown Congregational Church.

All meetings start at 7:30 pm. All dates, assigned subjects, and programs are included in the schedule on the club’s website, FlagpolePhotographers.com.

Dues are $30 per person or $50 for a family membership. Students may join at no charge.

For additional information contact Sandy Schill at 203-270-0483 or FlagpolePhotographers@yahoo.com. The club also has a Facebook page.
