Unique Pottery & ‘Gently Used’ Art Book Sale

DANBURY — Wooster School Art Center (WSAC) will be hosting a special sale the first weekend in November.

The annual pottery sale is a long time tradition at the art center where a variety of ceramic pieces produced by the students and faculty are available for sale. This is an excellent opportunity to do some holiday shopping for a one-of-a-kind ceramic piece at prices ranging from $5 to $200. There will be an assortment of vases, bowls and coffee mugs in a variety of textures and colors.

This year’s sale will be presented on Friday, November 4, from 5 to 7 pm; and Saturday and Sunday, November 5 and 6, 10 am to 3 pm each day.

In addition to the pottery, the art center will be selling some of the art books from its library.

“Last Spring a Wooster family gave the art center a generous donation of over 15 boxes of new art books,” explains director Wendy Northup. “Although we kept many of them for our library, some were not relevant or were duplicates, so we will be selling those at a discount to benefit the community art programs we run here.”

Among some of the books offered are the Life Magazine photography series, Larousse Gastronomique Culinary Encyclopedia and out-of-print books on specific artists like Jackson Pollack and Albert Ryder.                                                   All sale proceeds will benefit the Wooster Community Art Program and the art center facilities. The program is a non-profit community resource that offers year round classes for children, teens and adults.

WSAC is at 73 Miry Brook Road in Danbury. Visit www.wcaconline.net or call 830-3985 for additional information.
