To the Editor:
Although this has been a quiet campaign season in our fair town, it is important that we all get out to the polls and cast our all-important votes on Tuesday, November 8. There has been a great flurry of activity by the candidates for Legislative Council. I would like to encourage voters to consider some familiar names and additionally vibrant newcomers on the political scene that will bring perhaps, a different point of view and a lot of thought and energy into their decisionmaking.
In District 1: Joe DiCandido, Mike Iassogna, and Rich Recht are very skilled incumbent council members who offer key business knowledge.
In District 2: Joe Borst is celebrating his 50th year of serving on boards and commissions in Newtown and is as passionate about what is right for Newtown as he was in 1955. Joe is joined in District Two by three very talented and highly credentialed council candidates â Barbara Bloom, Stacie Doyle, and Pat Llodra.
Finally in District 3, Will Rodgers, who is current council chairman, has proven time and time again that his leadership has brought members of both parties to seamlessly act as one unified decisionmaking body. Will is joined by veteran council member David Brown, who has done it all in Newtown, and very skillfully. The final District Three candidate is Jeff Capeci, who is a shining light in his run for the council. Jeff brings strong credentials and abounding enthusiasm that will be appreciated on the council.
Thank you for your consideration of this fine group of individuals.
Sincerely,
Bill Brimmer
