Open Burning Permits Available From Fire Marshal

The town fire marshal’s office will again start issuing open burning permits on November 1. The local open burning season runs from November 1 through April 1.

People who want a $5 open burning permit may obtain one at the fire marshal’s office at the town offices at 31 Peck’s Lane. Office hours are 7 am to 4:30 pm on Mondays through Fridays. The telephone number is 270-4370.

People who do open burning must follow a set of regulations provided by the fire marshal.
