Jenny Lind Doll Show This Weekend

The Eighteenth Annual Show and Sale of the Jenny Lind Doll Club, with 35 dealers from the tri-state area, will take place on Sunday, October 30, at the Fireside Inn from 10 am to 4 pm. Collectors of antique and collectible dolls, teddy bears, clothing and accessories will find many examples from which to choose.

Show admission is $5 for adults and $1 for children.

Dealers will offer a wide variety of dolls, from hundred-year-old antiques made in France and Germany to fifty-year-old vintage and newer collectible dolls made both abroad and in the United States. Doll accessories and clothing of every type will also be offered.

The show will also feature doll appraisals. For a small fee, an expert will evaluate dolls and accessories for age and value.

A new feature that year is the 50/50 raffle. Collectors can purchase tickets throughout the show, depositing one half into a box. At the close of the show, one ticket will be pulled from the box and the lucky winner will win one half of all the proceeds from the raffle. The other half will benefit The Jenny Lind Doll Club.

The Jenny Lind Doll Club of Connecticut is a member of the United Federation of Doll Collectors, the national organization for doll enthusiasts. Founded in 1938, The Jenny Lind Doll Club of Connecticut is one of the oldest continuously operating doll clubs in the country.
