Garner Inmate Arrested

State police report that they responded to the state’s high-security Garner Correctional Institution at 50 Nunnawauk Road about 9 pm October 18 to investigate an incident of violence.

State police said inmate Danny Lee Hines, 32, formerly of New Haven, allegedly assaulted a staff member at the prison.

State police charged Hines with assault on a public safety officer. Hines was slated for an October 24 arraignment on the charge in Danbury Superior Court.

Hines is serving a 24-year prison sentence in Garner on a first-degree assault conviction.
