Frederick E. Wilmot, 86, of New Milford, formerly of Norwalk, husband of the late Dorothy Auleta Wilmot, died October 23 at the New Milford Hospital.
He is survived by two daughters, Kathleen W. Pinto and her husband, Carmine, of Sandy Hook and Donna J. Koellmer and her husband, William, of Palm City, Fla.; a son, Fred Wilmot and his partner, Deborah Cole, of Rowayton; two sisters, Helen Cutmore of Wilton and Dorothy DiProspero of New Milford; three grandchildren, Christopher Wilmot, Michael Wilmot, and Douglas Hayes; three great-grandchildren, Tyler Wilmot, Jessica Hayes, and Summer Wilmot; and several nieces and nephews.
Mr Wilmot was born in the Bronx, N.Y., on August 18, 1919, son of Leonard S. and Cassandra Henry Wilmot, and resided in Norwalk for 45 years before moving to New Milford in 1985. He was an engineer for the City of Norwalk for many years. Mr. Wilmot was a veteran of World War II, having served in the US Army at Pearl Harbor and Guadalcanal. He was a former member of the South Norwalk Boat Club.
Service was held October 27 in the Magner Funeral Home, Norwalk, with the Rev Dr William Hardwick, rector, of Grace Episcopal Church, Norwalk, officiating. Interment was in Spring Grove Cemetery, Darien.
