CWU World Community Day Returning Nov. 4
CWU World Community Day Returning Nov. 4
Church Women Unitedâs World Community Day is an annual event that brings together Protestant, Roman Catholic, Orthodox and other Christian followers in a common worship experience that focuses on issues of peace and justice. It is an opportunity to share in projects for local communities.
This yearâs World Community Day worship service, to be celebrated on Friday, November 4, will be âA Light to the Nations.â Services will be presented by CWU chapters around the world, including CWU/Newtown-Bethel, who will offer a service at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Newtown.
The service will include hymns, prayers, readings and a guest speaker. Mark Ingram, from Charter Commuications, will offer a discussion on how the church can use the media to present positive, truthful images.
All are invited to join the service, which will begin at 1 pm. The church is on Mt Pleasant Road (Route 6), at the corner of Tory Lane. A freewill offering will be taken during the service.
