Blessing Of The Animals

The Newtown United Methodist Church held its annual Blessing of the Animals on Sunday, October 25 by the Pootatuck River. Everyone bringing their beloved pets for a blessing also brought a food item for the local animal shelter. More than 50 animals including cats, dogs, parrots, hamsters, gerbils, Yurtle the turtle and rabbits were blessed.
