Art Auction Was A Success

To the Editor:

On behalf of Cullens Youth Association I would like to take the opportunity to say “thank you” to all who helped make our Art Auction such a success.

The evening of October 7 was, like so much of our weather lately, a miserable, rainy one. It was also the beginning of a long holiday weekend. Add to that parking problems at Edmond Town Hall due to the elevator construction. This was to be a major fundraiser for three organizations, Cullens, Venture Crew 70, and the Greater Candlewood Exchange Club and the odds appeared to be against us. Thankfully, we were wrong.

I would like to express gratitude to Nancy Crevier from The Newtown Bee who provided us with such wonderful publicity and those who generously placed ads in the program book. Not to be forgotten are Andrea’s Bake Shop, Newtown Color Center, Newtown Hardware, Lexington Gardens, and Ross Galleries, who donated door prizes. A special thank you to DiGrazia’s Vineyards for supplying all the wine for the evening.

Many, many thanks to all who braved the elements to join us! Thanks to the number of people in attendance and the amount of art work purchased, the three groups will share in a very nice contribution for their organizations. We exceeded our expectations and for that we are most grateful.
