To the Editor:

Joe Egan is the Probate Judge for the Northern Fairfield Probate District, which serves the towns of Newtown, Bethel, Ridgefield, and Redding.  As an attorney who has regularly practiced in his court for more than 20 years, I urge his reelection on November 4.

Judge Egan amply demonstrates all of the qualities which make a good judge: integrity, legal expertise, and the intangible “judicial temperament.” He efficiently and compassionately handles the difficult and often emotional matters which make up his court’s business.  His experience and expertise are so widely recognized that he was elected President of the National College of Probate Judges in 2007 and has been selected to train other judges.
