To the Editor,
To the Editor,
You and other voters in District 1 expect to vote for an outstanding experienced council candidate who will work hard for Newtown. If you were to interview Melissa Pilchard for a District 1 Council position you would discover a woman with impeccable credentials for the office. Melissa has the leadership qualities and a premium skill package that will benefit the town.
She has over 10 years of hands-on council experience, has top council committee assignments â finance, administration, Fairfield Hills, public works, social services, public safety, liaison library building project, council vice chairman six years, dedication to the town â missed only two council meetings during her tenure, kept mill rate down, an experienced problem solver and strategist, a communication facilitator, BA, University of Maryland â with high honors, Newtown resident with her family 26 plus years.
These qualities only scratch the surface of Melissaâs Council expertise. She is a successful person in her career and as a council member. Melissa has sound ideas, commitment, concern, visibility, available to anyone to converse on town issues â she has the know-how to accomplish council goals.
I believe The Bee would endorse Melissa not only because of the qualifications listed above but because she understands the needs of the town â schools, ball fields, senior tax abatement, town office space needs, fire department concerns and Fairfield Hills future possibilities.
I know you would vote for Melissa because she has the assets and skills the town could put to use immediately. She would come to the council with no on-the-job-training required!
I urge District 1 voters to look for Melissa Pilchard on their ballot and vote for her, I know I will November 2.
Sincerely yours,
Charles E. Pilchard
