Three Sessions In Nov. Of Museum Magic Hour

BRIDGEPORT — The Discovery Museum will present three sessions of its popular Saturday Morning preschool story-craft program, “Museum Magic Hour,” in November.

The month starts with the modern classic about a lovable dog, Gene Zion’s Harry the Dirty Dog, on November 6.  Then, Eric Carle’s colorful collages highlight The Very Busy Spider on November 13.

Finally, on November 20, parent and child will learn about the Native American role in Thanksgiving with Chief Jake Swamp’s book Giving Thanks.

After each story is read, participants create a take-home craft based on the book’s theme as a memento of the morning. The Museum Magic Hour is designed for children ages 21/2 to 5, accompanied by an adult — parent, grandparent, nanny, or just a friend.

Participants can choose either the 10:30-11:30 am or 2:30-3:30 pm session. Cost is $12 for either session. Reservations are required, and space is limited.

The Discovery Museum is at 4450 Park Avenue, one mile south of Exit 47 off the Merritt Parkway.  Free staffed parking is available adjacent to the building.  For more information and reservations, call 203/372-3521 extension 129.
