Flutist To Debut With GBS
BRIDGEPORT â International star of the flute Carol Wincenc will make her debut with Greater Bridgeport Symphony, performing the dazzling Celtic-inspired Flute Concerto by the Pulitzer Prize-winning composer Christopher Rouse, on Saturday, November 6.
The orchestra, under the baton of its internationally acclaimed conductor Gustav Meier, will also perform Tchaikovskyâs Symphony No. 6, his final and considered by many most passionate work.
The 8 pm performance will take place at Klein Memorial Auditorium, 910 Fairfield Avenue. The Klein is easily reached from all major routes. Free, attended parking is provided for symphony patrons at the new municipal parking facility directly across the street from the hall.
Concertgoers will also be treated to a pre-concert program with the GBS Percussion Ensemble in the inner lobby of the Klein at 7 pm Saturday evening.
