To the Editor:

According to Cambridge University Press Dictionary, a GEEK is: someone who is very interested in a particular subject and knows a lot about it.

That definition fits Barney Molloy perfectly. I should know. He’s my fiancé and I’ve known him for over twenty years (yes, we’re still together). He’s committed to public service and community involvement, I’ve watched him volunteer and step up many times to serve on boards and committees, always looking to resolve issues or improve the community.

As a parent with three young daughters in Newtown schools, I’m keenly interested in supporting our schools, and making sure that our tax dollars are spent wisely and in a transparent way. I know that Barney, using the skills and experience he’s developed throughout his career in finance and management will help the Board of Finance make that happen.

Barney is qualified, objective and will spend countless hours explaining the “ins and outs” of government (if you’ll let him). We need people like him in government who are “doing the right thing, for the right reasons.” That’s why I hope you’ll join me in putting his experience to work, and elect Barney Molloy to the Board of Finance this November.
