White Sox 12, Nationals 8: A wild game saw a first inning that took 42 minutes to complete. The Nationals scored six runs on some solid hitting, started off by Ayden Kasbarianâs line drive shot into right center. The White Sox came storming back with seven runs in the bottom of the first. Robbie Morrill broke open the game with a 2-run single to the gap in right center. Robert Murray and James Tibolla pitched three scoreless innings while Tyler Trede pitched the final inning, getting a strikeout and two comebackers to shut down a Nationals rally in the final inning. For the White Sox, Tyler Trede went 3-for-4 and an RBI, Robert Murray 2-for-3 and an RBI, Tyler Fuori 2-for-2 and an RBI, and Thomas Luciano also had 2 RBIs. On defense Robbie Morrill put a nice tag on the runner trying to score from third and later chased down a runner heading back to third. Tyler Trede gunned down a runner at second with a throw from deep center field; Robert Murray applied the sweeping tag. The Nationals Jeremey Larkin had a nice unassisted double play to kill a White Sox rally in the forth.
White Sox 7, Dodgers 5: A tightly fought game saw the White Sox jump out to an early 3-1 lead. Robbie Morrillâs long double to right center followed by a solid single by Patrick Oberstadt scored the first run for the White Sox. Solid defense and crafty pitching by James Tibolla yield only a single run for the Dodgers. Garrett Marino led off the third with a solid single, followed by Tyler Tredeâs long RBI single, another Morrill RBI single and an RBI by Justin Kahn widened the lead to 5-1. Oberstadt pitched a solid third inning giving up only one unearned run. The Dodgers would not be denied a share of the lead, when in the fourth they plated three runs of their own. Tyler Fuori came in to get two strikeouts with the bases loaded to keep the scored knotted at five. Garrett Marino got his second single and Trede his third hit of the game to lead off the fifth. An RBI single by Fuori and RBI sacrifice by Morrill put the White Sox in the lead 7-5. Trede got out of a bases-loaded jam in the bottom of the fifth and retired the side in order in the sixth, with two comebackers to close out the game for the White Sox.
Orioles 11, Rockies 10: In what only can be described as the comeback of the season, the never-give-up Orioles came from an early seven-run deficit to beat the first place Rockies 11-10 in extra innings. The Rockies took an early 8-1 lead. By the second inning Shea Talbot and Sammy Kapur had RBI doubles. The Orioles held the Rockies scoreless over the last three innings. A rally was halted in the fifth when left fielder Jonathan Nahmias made the defensive play of the game in left field to end the Rockies inning and potential rally. The hard hit liner appeared to be headed for the fence but Jonathan kept after it and at the last possible moment made a complete airborne dive to the delight on the onlooking crowd. The Oâs tied the game at 10 in the bottom of the sixth and won in extra innings on a Todd Peterson walk-off RBI single plating Miles Dievert for the Oriole win.
