To the Editor:

As a newcomer to Newtown, I was excited and inspired when Lisa Romano knocked on my door in June to introduce herself as a state representative candidate. I was so impressed by her credentials and her caring demeanor that I have volunteered with her campaign.

The more I have learned about Lisa and her ideas, the more strongly I believe that she is the best choice to represent Newtown in Hartford. She wants to make sure all Connecticut children receive a quality education and that kids should be taught to take responsibility for their own education. As a mother of a 7-month-old, this is very important to me. Lisa’s background as an educator enables her to provide insight and experience regarding education.

Although I am new to Newtown, I have quickly learned that our local economy is based on small businesses. Lisa believes that the state needs to do more to help small businesses; streamline the process and make it easier for people to start businesses.

I believe that when Lisa is elected, she will not only talk the talk, but walk the walk. As a member of the majority party in Hartford she will be in a much better position to make progress in these crucial areas for our district and our state. That is why I urge you to vote for Lisa Romano for state representative on November 6.
