Newtown has a chance to send a representative to Hartford who will stand up against the failed economic policies of Governor Malloy and his Democrat majorities in the General Assembly. Like Chris Lyddy, Lisa Romano is a nice person. Mitch Bolinsky also happens to be a nice guy. Unfortunately, Chris failed us by voting with his party and against Newtown. He endorsed budgets that gave us the largest tax hikes in history and predictably failed to balance increased spending.
Lisa would like to go to Harford to try to figure out which tax is the best tax or if income taxes are more âprogressiveâ than property taxes. Mitch will bring his ideas of lowering spending by consolidating services, stopping wasteful capital projects such as the New BritainâHartford Busway and ending crony capitalism branded as âFirst Five.â
On the Legislative Council, Mitch has a voting record of advocating for the policies that have improved Newtownâs bond rating at the same time as the stateâs rating was downgraded.
Mitch will work with DebraLee Hovey, Dan Carter, and a strengthened Republican caucus to promote the conservative principles that have worked locally for Newtown but have not been granted consideration in state government. Newtown needs a representative who will fight to reverse the policies that have prolonged the recession, not just rubberstamp them. To change Harford, we need to change who we send to Hartford. Vote for Mitch Bolinsky on November 6 for state representative to the 106th District.
