Powers Reels In Youth Bass Fishing Title
Newtownâs Shane Powers, 12, has been competing in The Bass Federation (TBF) Youth Bass Fishing Series this year and has recently completed his season. He finished first in the 11-14 year old division and has qualified for the TBF National Bass Fishing Tournament next year. TBF and Forrest L Woods conduct a national tournament for the top junior anglers of each state federation in two age groups: 11-14 and 15-18. This tournament is the National Guard Junior World Championship and is always held in conjunction with the prestigious Pro Bass Angler Tournament â The Forrest Wood Cup. Powers concluded his season at New Fairfieldâs Squantz Pond on October 13, landing four small-mouthed bass totaling 9.23 pounds.
