How Do Photographers Judge
Each Otherâs Photos?
The Flagpole Photographers Photo Club will host a workshop, open to the public, on Thursday, November 1. The program will be in the lower meeting room of Newtown United Methodist Church, and will begin at 7:30 pm.
This monthâs workshop will focus on creating good photographs, and what judges often look for in competition. This will be a hands-on program. Guests are encouraged to bring their cameras.
The church is at 92 Church Hill Road in Sandy Hook. There is some parking available in the back of the building, and more available in the main/front lot.
Light refreshments will be served.
The clubâs next meeting for competition will be Thursday, November 15, at 7:30 pm, in the lower meeting room of C.H. Booth Library, 25 Main Street.
The assigned subject is fall color, with open color and black and white as other categories. Club members only are allowed to enter a photo for the competition, but non-members are welcome to attend and see what the judges have to say about photos.
Refreshments will also be served this evening.
The Flagpole Photographers are also preparing their next exhibition at Newtown Municipal Center. The show will open on Sunday, November 18, with a reception from 2 to 4 pm. The public is encouraged to attend the reception for some treats and to meet some of the photographers.
This is the third annual show co-sponsored by the Town of Newtown and Flagpole Photographers. The exhibitionâs theme is âNewtown and Beyond,â and it will remain on view until December 13. The public can visit the exhibition during the buildingâs regular hours, Monday through Friday from 8 am until 4:30 pm.
