2012 Light the Night Walk

To the Editor:

We would like to thank everyone who participated in the 4th Annual Newtown Light the Night Walk. There are so many who played a key role in making the night a huge success.

*The generous donators (this year’s goal was $60,500 and we are happy to report that once all pending money comes in we will hit $67,000!)

*New England Bounce About, Brookfield, for the generous donation of an Inflatable bounce house.

*Those who volunteered the night of the walk: (Denise, David, and Mackenzie Phelps; Andrea Gaddis, Claudia Kraich, Janis Solheim, and the WIN Women: Denise Tramposch, Sue Rubino, Mandy Monaco, Wendy Delehanty, Peggy Velthuizen, Alice Baye, and Audrey Locorotondo)

*The 284 participants that formed 30 teams

*Those that could not be there, but wished us good weather (which we had) and those who continue to hold Christina in their thoughts and prayers.

We’d also like to send a special thank you to two other special people who are the backbone of the walk: Ginny Chion, who fought long and hard to have the walk located in Newtown, and then works endlessly throughout each year to make sure it continues to be a success. And to Kristen Angell, from the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, who puts it all together and makes it all magically run smoothly at each walk.
