To the Editor:

I am writing to voice my support for Lillian Bittman for a seat on the Newtown Board of Education.

I have known Lillian since 2003 when we both had our youngest sons in a local preschool, and this year they are together again in second grade. I came to know Lillian further when she was the Footprint Post (SHS school newspaper) advisor to my eldest son last year. She is also the newspaper advisor at RIS.

I know Lillian to be tremendously energetic, organized, and civic minded. The huge amount of time she gives to the Newtown schools “in a volunteer capacity” is remarkable. I think her enthusiasm for education and her background as a professional communicator make her an excellent choice to represent us on the Board of Education.
