To the Editor:

As a registered Republican and friend of Anna Wiedemann’s I would ask that you join me in voting for her to fill the two-year seat on the Board of Education. I first met Anna when I was co-president with her for the Newtown Middle School PTA. Anna remained active with the middle school PTA and high school PTSA long after her children had passed through the Newtown school system because she believed in maintaining a relationship with school, staff, parents, and the town. Anna attended many BOE meetings as well as other town meetings in order to bring information to our PTAs and communicate back the needs of our schools.

Anna has earned a reputation for caring about the community where we live and work; she is fair and dedicated. I have watched her act with an unbiased opinion. She only wants what is best for our students and our community. I know that she will listen to all sides of an issue and will ask the questions that need to be asked in order to make an informed decision.
