Ronald McDonald House Charities Offer Challenge Grants

GLASTONBURY — Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) of Connecticut and Western Massachusetts is offering ten challenge grants to high school students in grades 9 through 12 throughout Connecticut and Western Massachusetts so that they can make a difference in their schools or communities.

Students are challenged to raise $1,000 for a local project or cause they feel is important, and in turn they can receive a $1,000 grant to help put their plans into action. Whether the goal is to clean up and beautify a local park, execute a school volunteer program, provide funds and materials for a local nonprofit organization, or implement whatever dream or goal a teen can imagine, RMHC wants to hear from students.

Students must submit project proposals by November 30, and if selected, must raise $1,000 by March 31. Projects must be completed by June 16.

For more information and to apply for a matching grant, visit either rmhc.mcconnecticut.com or rmhc.mcmassachusetts.com, or call 860-659-0514.
