Would you like to have a member of the Fairfield Hills Authority attend a meeting of your group to give a presentation and answer questions about Fairfield Hills? The prompt is the first sentence the town website’s visitors see when they enter www.newtown-ct.gov and select the Fairfield Hills link.

From there, online guests can find the speaker request form now available electronically.

The form asks simply for a name, number, and location, the anticipated number of people, and whether or not the group can accommodate a PowerPoint presentation.

Requests forms should be submitted to the first selectman’s office at least three weeks prior to the desired meeting time. “Every effort will be made to provide a member of the authority to address your group,” states the form.

Mail forms to 45 Main Street, Newtown CT 06470, or fax them to 270-4205. Residents can also specify topics they would like a speaker to address in particular.

Civic groups aside, anyone can request a speaker, said authority member John Reed. “Communication is a challenge and you can never do enough, you’re always trying to improve.” The public now has a procedure to follow to get in touch with the authority, he noted.
